Biography:
Jason Kahn's writing career (and he uses the term so loosely it could mean virtually anything) began as a teenager writing and editing for his high school newspaper. He continued his journalism studies at the University of Michigan (after a nearly disastrous stint in accounting caused him to "swear off all numbers and figuring" forever), and after that at New York University.
Although he read fantasy and science fiction since he was young, it was actually his wife who suggested to him while they were dating in college that "hey, why don't you try writing one of those?" And so he did, starting with a couple of attempts at novels, which he returns to now and again. For the past several years, though, Jason has concentrated on short stories, achieving a small measure of success with pieces appearing in Baen's Universe, the anthology Strange Stories of Sand and Sea, Abandoned Towers (forthcoming), and Damnation Books (forthcoming).
Today he lives in Park Slope, Brooklyn, with all the other young families who fled Manhattan for more space. By day, he works as a medical editor for a New York-based cardiology research foundation. Jason's hobbies include rooting for his University of Michigan Wolverines and chasing after two mischievous gnomes who claim to be his children.
